My love affair with alpine rivers began in 2010 when I moved to Zell am See for a hockey contract. The moment I laid eyes on the Salzach River’s crystal-clear currents and the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding lakes, my passion for fishing was reignited with a vengeance.
A Legacy Cast in Fly Fishing
Fishing runs deep in my blood, thanks to my father—a Czech Republic champion who competed in European and World fly-fishing championships. Under his guidance, I mastered the art of the artificial fly and was instantly hooked. As a young angler, I competed fiercely, clinching local titles and even earning a spot at the 2002 Junior World Fly Fishing Championship in Scotland. Yet, my budding hockey career left little room for the fishing obsession that had already taken root.
From Ice Rinks to Riverbanks
After hanging up my hockey skates, I returned to Zell am See, dedicating myself fully to fly fishing. Over the past 11 years, I’ve explored every hidden lake and winding river in the region, even designing top-performing local fly patterns. Now, I’m thrilled to share this hard-earned expertise with fellow anglers.
